Nominees SME Westport Notaries Entrepreneur Award 2023 announced

This year again, many applications were received by MKB Westland for the MKB Westport Notarissen Entrepreneur Award. The jury, led by chairman Lars Boellaard (notary and managing partner at Westport Notarissen), has made a selection from these applications after careful deliberation and has managed to nominate three distinctive companies. From these nominees, one winner will be chosen to receive the prestigious entrepreneur award. The nominees for the MKB Westport Notaries Entrepreneur Award 2023 are: De Witte, Wubben.Chan and BICT Group.

De Witte

De Witte has been a household name in the Westland region since 2000, with two establishments of Eetcafé de Witte, Il Bianco and Bar De Promenade, in the meantime. The recent acquisition of De Buren Eten en Drinken shows that they are not afraid to take risks and invest in the future. During corona, they dared to invest with a complete renovation of De Witte in 's-Gravenzande. An investment that was not just about modernising the interior but certainly also making the premises more sustainable. At a time when entrepreneurs are struggling with personnel problems, you will not hear them complain at De Witte; they know how to retain their staff. In addition, they actively promote the centre's interests. 

Wubben.Chan

Wubben.Chan is not just another Westland architectural firm; it includes Wubben.Chan Architects, Wubben.Chan Engineering, Wubben.Chan Studio and Wubben.Chan Project (CUBE Tower, iBuild). The architectural firm has built a solid reputation in Westland and far beyond with leading projects that merge creativity, engineering, sustainability and innovation. Their commitment to sustainability is reflected not only in bold circular timber construction projects but also in their focus on vibrant communities. In addition, their BIM expertise is impressive. The BIM model is used to integrate all technical, physical and functional information and optimise the construction process. In short: architecture with a love of history, craft and local culture.

BICT Group

The name BICT Group will ring a bell with many Westlanders because of their considerable local involvement. The BICT Group is an example of how SMEs support club life in Westland and beyond. In addition, in recent years the BICT Group has developed smart ICT solutions and profiled itself as an all-service SME that offers its clients secure and future-proof Cloud Internet solutions. The fact that clients signed up the BICT Group en masse this year is testament to the high esteem in which the BICT Group is held.

Award ceremony

The judges will visit the nominated companies this month and, as they do every year, take part in a cooperative internship. The winner of the MKB Westport Notarissen Ondernemersprijs 2023 will be announced on November 23rd in the Oude Kerk in Naaldwijk. During the ceremony, there will be a festive farewell to Westport Notarissen. After a successful 16-year partnership, the award will bear a new name from next year. 'Who will be the new name giver of the award? We will keep that a secret until after the ceremony!" said Shirley Schelkers (chairman MKB Westland).
