Een multi-inzetbare doos voor Hygiënepapier.nl

20 februari 2024

Hygiënepapier.nl is the webshop when it comes to hygiene for the business market. Started in 2016 as a supplier of Hygiënepapier.nl but has since grown into the one-stop-shop for everything in hygiene. For such a wide range of products, it is a challenge to stock custom-made packaging for each format.

In this packaging issue, protecting the contents, optimising the process and efficiency were among the most important points to arrive at the right packaging solution.

Protecting the content

Transport can often be rough and unpredictable, with shocks, bumps and vibrations. If the products in the shipping box or bag are not properly protected, this can lead to damage to the goods. In the case of Hygienepaper.co.uk's products, this can lead to e.g. leakage of liquid detergents or damage to boxes that are no longer usable. "In addition, it leads to unnecessary costs. It may be necessary to send a replacement product, make repairs or pay compensation. Left or right, it costs us money. So it is essential to ensure that the packaging optimally protects the contents during storage and transport and arrives at the customer in good condition" says Koen of Hygienpapier.nl.

In addition, damaged packaging can lead to customer dissatisfaction. This can result in negative reviews, complaints and loss of business opportunities. For an online store like Hygiënepapier.nl, a positive customer experience is crucial for retaining and expanding customer bases, result in increased buyer confidence and a stronger brand image.

Optimisation of the process

Smart and efficient packaging and protection is our motto and an important aspect of any supply chain. Optimising a process affects various aspects of an organisation and can bring significant benefits in terms of efficiency and cost reduction, environmental friendliness and customer satisfaction, among others. In Hygienepapier.nl's packaging issue, there was a need for different types and sizes of packaging due to its wide range of products. After analysing the process and products, product specialist Germandio developed an innovative packaging that is multi-purpose.

A folding box with crease lines

A creased folding box is basically a box that you can adapt to different sizes. To make the box fit the contents, all you have to do is cut the four corners at the desired height. Thanks to the creasing lines on the inside of the box, you can easily check that all corners are cut at the same height and you can easily fold the box closed. This reduces the need for filling materials and ensures that the contents are safely packed and well protected during storage and transport. "By deploying this packaging solution, we have been able to reduce the number of shipping boxes, which ensures fewer types of packaging and less storage space in the warehouse" says Germandio. This crease line technique can be used in any size box and allows us to use one packaging more and more widely.

Efficiënty

Besides using cardboard boxes, various hygiene products are also shipped in shipping bags. A rock-solid HDPE shipping bag with an exceptional size of 62 x 95 is the best solution. This shipping bag is ideal for packing large quantities of paper towels or toilet rolls.

Looking at efficient, in terms of tape we have made a special adaptation to the standard printed tape. By prominently printing the terms 'Fragile, Fragile and Vorsicht' on the tape in addition to the Hygiënepapier.nl logo, warehouse staff only need 1 tape roller, the warning is readable in multiple languages for all their European customers and they can process orders faster, more efficiently and more economically.

We are proud of our cooperation with Hygiënepapier.nl, the optimisations we have achieved over the past period and the projects that are still to follow.
